What is AI Tinkerers?

AI Tinkerers is a meetup designed exclusively for active builders who are building and shipping products professionally with foundation models and generative AI—including engineers, entrepreneurs, developers, prompt engineers, researchers, creative technologists, and vibe-coders who ship.

Who is this for?

👉 We’re AI Tinkerers, we’re builders. We screen attendance to active builders with a shared level of expertise in order to create a collaborative environment ideal for early-stage discovery and innovation. Think of us as the modern-day Homebrew Computer Club: focused demos, deep code dives, zero fluff. We are a global, curated network of AI builders hosting events in cities around the world, from open-source contributors to startup founders and frontier researchers. The National ICT Innovation Hub is located inside the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) Nakawa Campus and creates an environment for ICT innovators facing challenges with workspace, limited internet connectivity and searching for creative spaces that spur thinking.

The Hub seeks to become the “Home of ICT Innovation” with the ability to house and support the local innovation ecosystem in Uganda, harnessing the true concept of Nationalism (home-grown potential).

Demo Submission We are looking for demos! A demo is about five minutes in length and demonstrates a work in progress. No pitches! These are 100% about sharing a challenge, learning or discovery. No slides rule: skip the deck and show the implementation directly. Walk us through the code or your serverless config/workflow setup. Five minutes, live demo, then a crash-course in how you built it. The goal is to enable a fellow tinkerer. These sessions are not about promoting your startup.
